how does Google Chrome effect Tiger

I get the following notice on my G5 10.4.ll FireFox.

"You are using a version of Firefox which Gmail no longer supports. Some features may not work correctly. Upgrade to amodern browser, such as Google Chrome".

I'm confused 😕- I use Firefox as my browser, now Google is telling me to change to a modern browser such as Google Chrome. If I do this, will FireFox no longer be available to me? I just found an answer to my problem of possibly losing my FireFox ability to open videos, thanks to a person on Apple discussion, I'd hate to do something that will undo the recently solved problem, I'd rather change email services.

You can use Firefox without any problem, but Gmail doesn't support the Firefox version you have. Google Chrome isn't compatible with Tiger, so use Safari

mende1 and BDAqua, thank you both very much for your speedy replies.

It's strange, I had tried TenFourFox before, still had it in my applications, but when I had tired youtube I got a notice that I didn't have the correct Adobe Flash to watch the videos. Now, either the fixed I added to FireFox a few days ago works for TenFourFox too, or I didn't go past the Youtube homepage to challenge the video option the first time I tried. This time I downloaded a video and it worked just fine.

I will keep the links offered to me, because we all know, as soon as one fix comes along, you can bet there's another going to be need soon after.

I opened up Gmail and so far, there's no warnings to move from Google to Google Chrome.

Many Appreciations to you both.
