It depends on whether or not you require the features that are still missing.
The easiest way to find out is to download the free 30 day fully functional demo and see for yourself.

FCP X has its pros and cons like any other app but I think it's fair to say that for all amateurs and most pros it is far superior to legacy FCP.
With the exception of certain broadcast pros who have a specialised way of team-working, FCP X can do anything you ask of it with speed and ease.
However, don't give up after a few days.
Stick it out to the end of the month and you will almost certainly come to love it.
This free set of 2+ hour tutorials will get you off to a quick start.

That's broad question.
I was wondering what the biggest complaints are.
As an editor for TV and the web, I see a lot I think I would like but don't want to get stuck after working in a new app.
Does it Support Magic Bullet, FX Factory and Core Melt Complete V.2?
Just searching...

Yes, all of them.
It's also got the best multicam editor of any app.
Hi Ian.
Time to update your Discussions bio to include FCPX evangelist.đ

You edit for TV. Is anyone in your area using it? Thus far in my world of TV production (Los Angeles) I haven't seen it anywhere. FCP Legacy is still in use, and more people are switching to Avid....and toying with Premiere.
But, that said, if you want to use it, and it does what you need...get it. I just haven't seen any job postings looking for people who know FCX, or any companies that are using it. Well, there is one, but they are doing shows for YouTube.
Understatement (along with modesty) has always been one of my many self-publicised virtues.
Shane,
I don't know ANYONE, who is a serious editor, who uses FCP X. It seems pro-sumer. Or not even that.
I'm considering Premeire, (I already own it), and switching from Motion to After Effects.
What circles are you in, in LA? I used to be in the Trailer world at New Wave and Goodspot.
I'm curious to get another perspective.

Cable Documentary mainly, but some reality. Orignial Productions, Prometheus, Morninstar, New Dominion out of Virginia...handful of smaller companies...few larger ones. 90% of them are Avid. A few used to be FCP 7...some are staying there until they have to switch, some have switched. In my world, the shift will be mainly back to Avid. Adobe will have to have editors pushing it like we did FCP if it is to gain any ground. And it will gain ground when media management improves.
