FCP X has its pros and cons like any other app but I think it's fair to say that for all amateurs and most pros it is far superior to legacy FCP.

With the exception of certain broadcast pros who have a specialised way of team-working, FCP X can do anything you ask of it with speed and ease.

However, don't give up after a few days.

Stick it out to the end of the month and you will almost certainly come to love it.

You edit for TV. Is anyone in your area using it? Thus far in my world of TV production (Los Angeles) I haven't seen it anywhere. FCP Legacy is still in use, and more people are switching to Avid....and toying with Premiere.

But, that said, if you want to use it, and it does what you need...get it. I just haven't seen any job postings looking for people who know FCX, or any companies that are using it. Well, there is one, but they are doing shows for YouTube.

Cable Documentary mainly, but some reality. Orignial Productions, Prometheus, Morninstar, New Dominion out of Virginia...handful of smaller companies...few larger ones. 90% of them are Avid. A few used to be FCP 7...some are staying there until they have to switch, some have switched. In my world, the shift will be mainly back to Avid. Adobe will have to have editors pushing it like we did FCP if it is to gain any ground. And it will gain ground when media management improves.
