hey, i am searching for an applescript that clears my memory.
Why would you want to do that? And what do you mean by "clears my memory"?
Close all active programs?
Set all RAM to null?
Well there is an application that called FreeMemory Pro that is freeing your mamory. and i would like to have an script that does that with one click. there is an way to do this with the terminal. i only have to type in purge an its freeing up the memory, but how can i do this in my appliscript application in xcode?
If you're thinking of running something like this in OS X, don't bother.
The OS takes care of memory just fine.
That program does not "clear" memory.
First of all, if it did try, it would crash as nobody can write to random locations in memory without being killed by the OS.
That program and all the others like it are rip-offs who prey on uninformed people.
sudo purge
to check your current memory usage, use this command
top -l 1 | awk '/PhysMem/ {print "Wired: " $2 "; Active: " $4 "; Inactive: " $6 "; Used: " $8 "; Free: " $10}'
In El Capitan, there are only 7 variables ending with unused for your top | awk syntax.
PhysMem: 3765M used (1323M wired), 4425M unused.
