Cannot sync my ipod touch with my PC (Windows7).Message is "iTunes could not connect to this iPOD. Unknown error occurred (0xE800000A)."

I get an error message when I try to sync my ipod touch to my PC (Windows 7). The message is "iTunes could not connect to this iPOD. Unknown error occurred (0xE800000A)." The Genius at the local Apple store could not help but show that it works on a iMac. I have used all the help suggestion given in itunes including reloading itunes and removing the device from the PC.
