I can't email my notes, They give the option but nothing seems to register?

I have tried to email my notes. A drop down happens that gives a choice of emailing or printing. But you can't click either one. Please help. Love to use my ipad and that would be great if I could figure out what I am doing wrong. I have an ipad1 and have always updates the Os when it comes available.

Please help.Thanks

I just wanted to update. I have quite a few things underlined and that is what I want to have emailed to me, not neccessarily added notes. Is there a way to email the underlined portions? Thank you. I hope someone can help.
