Can anyone please help I am desperate.

I recently updated to the new iTunes Ver. 11.0 and as a result I lost all my music (32GB) on my iPod Classic 7G. This resulted when I tried to sync some new music from iTunes to the iPod for some reason in this process all my existing music on the iPod was wiped out and I cannot sync them back from iTunes.  iTunes showed all the Albums intact but it would not allow me to sync.  I would also like to advise that this music is also on the iCloud and the music match works.
