I am using Windows 7 (64bit). After downloading QuickTime, installation box disappeared and no installation. What to do?

This happened to me several months ago on my Dell Inspiron XPS, Win7 Ultimate 64bit. But when I viewed ~ "Start | All Programs" & scrolled down the list, I found a folder "Quicktime"  with 4 entries, including "Quicktime Player." It has successfully functioned & updated each time since. Weird behaviour for the installer in my case. Hopefully someone can provide you a solution where there was NO installation.
