The printer is permanently offline (over USB), except for few minutes when it is turned off and on. The Brother support seems deaf to the problem. Where shell I expect help from - at Apple or Brother?

Probably at the time of writing - Summer 2011, the fix was workable, but now, after one and half a year?
Besides, two months ago, my former printer, Samsung, did not suffer from any incompatibility of the comp. and printer software.
