You really have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1. Apple only made 32 and 64 GB 3G iPods.

Probably nowhere; if you happen to have a fourth generation iPod touch and not a second(there were no 8GB third generation ones), update it from iTunes on a computer.
