com.apple.coremedia.videodecoder timeout

I've been trying to get to the route cause of some slow shutdowns in Mountain Lion.

Console states com.apple.coremedia.videodecoder is taking too long to end and so kills the service after 20 seconds (the default time ML gives for services to end).

Anyone know what com.apple.coremedia.videodecoder does? I couldn't even find the service in any of the LaunchDaemons folders. 😕
