Q: Phone Number disappeared iMessage

Today I noticed that my mac was no longer recieving messages directed to my phone number. I opened up the iMessage settings in iMessage and its no longer listing the number as an option.

go to settings> imessage > and slide the button to off.  Reboot your device. and do the same steps to turn it back on..... then wait and see about 5 mins or so, it may fit it.  You may have to do the same steps on you Ipad as well.

that seems to have done it for now!  for whatever reason not all imessages are making it to the ipad, but that definitely seems to have fixed it.  thank you!!!

Make sure that "start conversations from" are both using the phone number. Go to settings> iMessage and scroll to the bottom to see on the devices.

I've had my phone number disappear from my iMessage account on my Mac several times now.  I don't know why this is happening but it looks like a bug to me and is painful and annoying.  Your fix littlekelli (turning iMessage off and on again on the iPhone) is relatively simple and seems to work.  Thanks for this...

I have had this happen before. This time I got on this site and used 2 suggestions.  Go to your phone if your phone # on your ipad has disappeared out of your 'messages' (settings green messages icon) and your emails r there. You will not receive phone texts if your  phone# has disappeared..  Go to your iphone and settings and 'general' and to 'reset' and then 'reset network settings'. Turn your 'imessage' off ipad then reboot your ipad. Then turn it back on after rebooting.  I also turned imessaging off on my phone and rebooted.  My phone number showed back up on ipad. Hit on the number under "you can be reached by imessage at" and the check appears and you should be back working.

At least it worked for me!
