Cannot import REX files in Logic 7.2

is it just with importing? can you drag and drop? or is it not recognized at all?

AFAIK rex files don't work in the ESX24. you can drag and drop rex files into the arrange window right? then you can export as wav or aif then put them into the ESX24

has reason been upgraded for universal binary yet? does it work on the intel mac?

This is a intel specific issue not a 7.2 issue.

You need a UB of the Rex shared library to import *.rx2 files into Exs.

It isn't a bug. On PPC it works as expected.

As soon as the Rex Shared Library is made UB it should work as expected.

I would try to get a demo version of Reason 3.0.5.

Until then, if you have Recycle on a PPC you could just export the loop as individual slices, then import them into EXS on your intel mac.

I've got the exact same problem. I've got Recycle installed, and I get "What Kind of File is This? - Abort" when I try to drag-and-drop, and rex files are greyed out if I try to "Add Audio File". Also, the entire "Recycle Convert" List in the ESX24 is greyed out. What's the deal Apple?? This is holding me back terribly... I think I should call them, anyone else call yet? get a response?

Also.. the 7.2.1 update says it fixes recycle compatability, yet it still doesn't work... any info? thanks....

I can't get REX files to load. It is a bug, end of discussion. It worked on 7.1, I loaded 7.2.1, it doesn't work. When will this be fixed? I run a pro studio with 4 project rooms all running logic. (Only 1 is on intel 7.2) we have 1000's of rex samples. If it is not fixed I am going to be forced to start looking for an alternative to logic. I called Apple and they told me I had to pay to get this question answered. That doesn't seem right since I just spent $3300 on a new computer and another copy of logic.

If you just bought a copy of Logic, then aren't you entitled to free tech support for what, a year? Or maybe a few months, I forget.

If it's that big of a deal, go back to 7.1.1.

It works fine for me.
