Check if the iPhone is factory unlocked by imei

Hello! I was sondering how can you check if the iPhone is factory unlocked by imei? I used imei.info, and this is what I got:

SIM Locked: yes Carrier: Canada N41 Country Channel Flex Activation Policy.

What does the latter mean? I read that all phones come locked at first and when you turn it on, you somehow unlock it in iTunes. This phone wasn't touched, and there is no provider mentioned. Does anybody know what's going on with it? The phone is still sealed, and I don't want to open it and connect to iTunes.

Would really appreciate any help!

😐 Then I just paid for nothing...But how do you know if it's unlocked or not then?

I wonder if calling apples support would answer my question...

Unlocked iPhones are sold in Apple Retail Store.

Where did you buy yours?

Furthermore, in your receipt will also be stated.

Sim-free is not the same as unlocked, it means it will lock to the first Apple supported carrier sim.

Don't buy something when you are not sure. Buy only from legitimate source like Apple Retail Store or Apple supported carrier. Which countrry are you from?

You could indeed call Apple Support. They should be able to see that information based on the IMEI and/or Serial Number.

There is no way to tell if an iPhone is unlocked from its IMEI. Any IMEI can be locked or unlocked, and it can change its locked state. The site you used is a hoax to get your money.
