iWork 9.3 update - computer crashes

I've got the same problem

I also have this issue. I am running 10.8.2 It happens when I do an update through the App Store so I downloaded the update from the Apple Support site. Attempted the install. Same result.

I'm having the same problem.

Same problem here. I've been trying to update iWorks for nearly two months on both my iMac and my MacBookPro. Have tried installing the update through the Mac App Store as well as downloading it from Apple Support. Both ways it appears to download, but fails during installation and results in the computers restarting.

Any other suggestions (preferrably a solution) would be much appreciated!

I have a similar issue on my iMac, though my MB Pro is unaffected...(Mountain Lion on both) tried to do a comparative analysis, but not saavy enough I guess.

I think I have finally found the problem. (Excuse me for my English, its a foreign language for me)

The Process which let crash the mac was WDSmartWareD (if i saw this right), and anotherone also from WD (Western Digital).

I removed/deleted all Files of Western Digital also in the LaunchDaemons

as Example:

/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.WesternDigital.WDSmartWareD.plist

After i restartet my Mac end tryied to install the Update and it worked.

Perhaps you can try this also and give a Feedback if it was the same problem at your mac?

Per domi-dg's suggestion, I deleted the Western Digital files (probably from the external hard drive I have connected to my iMac) in the LaunchDaemons's library folder. Restarted the computer. And installed the iWorks update without any problem. The WD hard drive still functions properly.
