I had my son's ipad mini engraved... We recieved it today and the package looks like it was never touched. I am wondering if it was really engraved. What was the packaging like for your engraved item? I remember getting a nano engraved a few years ago and I thought it looked like it had been opened. I just don't want to open it Christmas and find it was never engraved.

Engraved device packaging is exactly the same as a regular device. Engraving is done at the factory before the device is packaged.
But if you ordered a personalized device through the Apple online store, then it will be engraved.

I understand that, BUT someone might have an idea what their packaging looked like when they got it. Was it open or not? Was it wrapped or not? It's a pretty simple question. Do they re-wrap items that are engraved or are they open. I don't plan on opening the item, I will contact apple if no one here remembers.

well none of us are going to know if your item was engraved without looking at it. just because it wasnt sloppily wrapped does not mean it wasnt engraved.
I know this question is really late & I don't even know if you still read this or get notified, but was it engraved? I ordered one for my girlfriend and am encountering the same thing. I appreciate the confident answer from "ThatGuyFromThatPlace" but I prefer an answer from someone with an actual experience.
