If the fan continues to run fast after a reboot perform an SMC reset.
I have this issue also. I am assuming that a SMC reboot wont wipe any data. Is that right?
Yes. The SMC reset does not affect any data.
ok... i tried the smc reset, didn't work.... fan is still running at 6200 rpm and i've tried everything, macbook is hot, fan is loud when running flash.. its terrible.
That's because Flash is a resource hog.
