Extended Network Question

Got an extended wifi network using a AirPort Extreme and a AirPort Express.

Using the AirPort Uitility, it shows the connection on my AirPort Extreme as Poor, but on the AirPort Express it listed as Good and four wireless clients are connected to it. Why would the connection on one be poor and the other one good?

Mac OS X (10.7.5), iPhone 5, iPad2

Depending on the distance and the potential for Wi-Fi interference, the connection strength (as seen from the wireless client) of each base station in an extended network maybe different. You can quickly determine which base station the client is connected to by Option-clicking on the AirPort icon in the OS X menu bar and noting the value for BSSID. This would be the wireless MAC address of the base station that the client is wirelessly connected to.
