My brain is in terrible danger...from this mac.

My mac keeps making horrible sounds. I think it's the fan dying. It's been at this since summer.

I've been ignoring it, because I love how pretty macs are, but I'm clueless as to how to fix them.

However, tonight it suddenly began making a second noise simultaneously of rattling or clicking.

The first loud humming scream sounds like the fan is on supermode and fails at being super.

The second scary rattling noise reminds me of paper stuck in a household fan getting battered.

Either that, or these are the noises of my mac making its death rattle. But it's not even that old.

Here is a recording of the noises. It is quite loud, I warn you:

I looked up cpu usage using activity monitor, as suggested by another thread:

Activity Monitor: 7%

Safari: 3%

Safari Web Content: 29%

Flash Player (Safari) 34%

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2009), Mac OS X (10.6.8), Broken? Horrible noises from fan.
