Q: eMac blue screen on waking From sleep

When my eMac goes to sleep it wakes up to a locked compressed ble screen and needs a resart to clear. Any Ideas how to fix

eMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8), 1 GHz PowerPC G4 ATI Graphics

    What all USB or Firewire devices are connected?

    I have 2 USB devices: HP all in one printer and a 500 gb hard disc plus the usual keyboard and mouse

     

    and OS X is not as stated it is 10.5

    Disconnect those two & see if it wakes.

     

    Open console in Applications>Utilities, check the system log for the date/time of the last problem  & the Startup right after that for clues.

    Thanks, I have tried suggestion still problem. I have looked in the console But I don't really understand what I am looking for. The computer sleep and wakes up fine if it is just for a couple of minutes but if left any lenght of time wakes up to a blue/black screen. here are the consule results after reboot:

    Hmmmm,

     

    Turn off Airport & disconnect Ethernet if you have it & test again.

     

    In System Preferences>Energy Saver, do you have put Haed Drives to sleep if possible? If so uncheck it & test.

     

    In Finder's Menu, select Go menu>Go to Folder, and go to...

     

    /var/db/

     

    Is there a BootCache.playlist in there?
