iCloud unable to work/not needed

I downloaded iCloud along with my updates to iTunes (which got rid of all my music by the way). I am not going to be using iCloud any time soon so I decided to uninstall it. However when I went to uninstall the program it would not let me. So I tried to log into iCloud but apparently my "valid" apple account is not "valid" for iCloud. So I cannot use iCloud nor get rid of it. Need a little help. Thanks.
