Duplicate photos in iPhoto, all with "- Version 2" added to original name. For example,

For example, the original photo is named "scene-Radnor-con30" and the duplicate is named "scene-Radnor-con30 - Version 2". Other than manually deleting each one, I have also used an app called PhotoSweeper, but with not great results. I have 50,000 photos, half of which are dups.

I've never had problems with PhotoSweeper. Maybe there were some issues in past, but now it works fine. Also I read many positive reviews from users, and "Based on reports" I would recomend it everyone who want to remove duplicate photos from their libraries.


I'd suggest you to test PhotoSweeper before suggesting not to use it. There is a demo version of this app.
