why has itunes authorized my computer 3x and dinged me for 3 separate computers when it's the same machine?

why is itunes store dinging me for 3x for authorizing the same computer ? I had to rebuild it 2x.. and its' still the same computer- same ip, same everything> I just added a new ipod classic because the old one died.

what's up with that?

And syncing this with the new itunes is a real challenge

also went through the new tutorial BUT the video didn;t show up either

any help here would be appreciated
