Post update, when I try to play movies/tv shows through iTunes only audio comes through. How do I fix this?

Just rented a movie from the iTunes store, which I have never had a problem with prior to this, and played it but the screen was black. Audio was coming through the whole time. I tried skipping around to see if maybe some parts of the movie didn't get downloaded correctly but that wasn't case. I tried playing other tv shows I have on my computer that I bought from iTunes and those won't play correctly either. I can only assume it was something involving this previous update. Any guidance on the matter would be appreciated.
