External Harddrive Unrepairable!

I have an external harddrive (Seagate), and for some reason I can't open it because it is "damaged". It can't repair it in Disk Utilities. So can I copy all those files onto my computer without them being damaged? Help, please, I have irreplacable stuff on there!

You can try other repair utilities such as DiskWarrior or TechTool Pro. Alternatively there are file recovery utilities that have free trial versions which will have a look at the drive and tell if you if they can do anything.

File recovery software: Try using an application such as Data Rescue 3 - http://www.prosofteng.com/products/data_rescue.php or FileSalvage - http://subrosasoft.com
