I have an external harddrive (Seagate), and for some reason I can't open it because it is "damaged". It can't repair it in Disk Utilities. So can I copy all those files onto my computer without them being damaged? Help, please, I have irreplacable stuff on there!

Only if the drive is accessible and will mount on the Desktop. No guarantee after that.
You can try other repair utilities such as DiskWarrior or TechTool Pro. Alternatively there are file recovery utilities that have free trial versions which will have a look at the drive and tell if you if they can do anything.

Well at times it will let me mount the drive, but I can only copy the files (I can't edit them if they are on the drive). So when it mounts, it is safe to transfer the files?
