Image size?

My podcasts are appearing in iTunes, and seem to be working correctly... I then ran it through feedvalidator - it found a few problems (???) but one that stood out was the image size - it said the max was 144x???, and my image is 187x124.

What IS the correct dimensions for the image?

For RSS, it's 144x144.
For the iTunes Music Store, it's 300x300.

You can include both in your feed like this:
<image>
<url> http://www.yoursite.org/144.jpg</url>
<title>Title</title>
<link> http://www.yoursite.org</link>
<width>144</width>
<height>144</height>
</image>
<itunes:image href="http://www.yoursite.org/300.jpg" />

Making one 144x144 and the other 300x300 (two images).

Hope this answers your question.

This has to be asked alot. But yesterday 5-11-06. I sent in my podcast and it is now up. But i dont see my artwork up. I believe i have it setup right. I have the image as 300x300 and this is what it looks like in the feed.
<itunes:image> http://www.revcmpsys.com/mitm/podcast/weekly/MIMBS_logo.jpg</itunes:image>

Does that look right?

Really would love my image to be up since it makes us look like we know what we are doing:) Even tho i am still new to this.

actually i'm having problems with my image as well. my podcast is up and running on Apple iTunes store. when i search for my podcast i see my image, but when i subscribe to the podcast, i don't see the image under "artwork" area in iTunes. also when i load the podcast to my iPod i still don't see the image.

this is the line of code i've added in my XML file:

<itunes:image href="http://www.krismichael.com/exposure/episodes/g coverexposure.png" />

the image is 300x300

my podcast is "Exposure with Kris Michael"

thanks in advance for any help with this.

My department has produced several podcast for our agency. ( http://www.myetv.org/podcast) . All is working well with one exception.

The image is not appearing in the artwork window when you subscribe to a podcast and play one of its episodes. (Podcasts have been submitted and accepted by iTunes for 3 weeks).

Two of our XML files can be viewed at http://www.myetv.org/podcast/feeds/SpoletoToday_with_MarcusOverton.xml and http://www.myetv.org/podcast/feeds/Spoleto_Updates.xml . We cannot figure out what we are doing wrong. We have pinged iTunes to update and still nothing. We have included the necessary itunes:image tag in the XML files.

1) I've noticed in many discussions here, and also in Apple's Tech Specs, there is a space after .jpg” and before />. Is this space necessary for iTunes to recognize the tag?
(EXAMPLE: <itunes:image href="http://example.com/podcasts/everything/AllAboutEverything.jpg" />)

2) Is it necessary to include the width and height tags for the image to display in iTunes.

3) It is my understanding that it is not necessary to embed the image within each episode of a podcast, unless you want a different image to display for each episode or you want the image to display for an iPod. Is this correct?

Any assistance would be very much appreciated.
