I want to know why the 7th generation ipod nano does not come with:
iPod nano, ipod nano 7th generation
1. The iPod Nano runs the Pixi operating system, not iOS and has too small a screen for displaying the game and controlling it.
2. Plug in a headset with a microphone: http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/ipod_nano_user_guide.pdf page 46.
3. Ignore the answer from AppleRulesTheWorld
Because thats called bussiness and before when nanos had games it was because they wanted to as many features as they can and the ipod touch wasnt there, later was, but now when you want mp3 with games or for gaming you buy the touch. I know its stupid but what you gonna do? Have a nice day!
I disagree with your first point. I had a generation 4 nano and the screen was even smaller and there were 3 games preloaded.
AppleRulesTheWorld may sound bitter but they may have a point about forcing us to upgrade for greater functionality.
I wish my 4th gen didn't die.. I'm disappointed in the non-music playing features of the 7th gen.
The screens of the two designs are fairly close in size but the 4th generation had a separate clickwheel to use as a controller, the 7th Generation does not have this. More than half the screen would be taken up with controls and a keyboard would need to take almost all of the screen.
Click wheel games have been gone for about 2 years now so don't lose them if you bought any.
I don't want to get into semantics but there was one game (a maze one, I think) that didn't require the click wheel at all. And Solitaire could have been made into a touchscreen app. So, to me, the absence of a click wheel is a weak excuse.
Since the fourth generation did not have a touch screen how did the game work?
The biggest problem is the 7th uses the Pixo OS rather than iOS. It isn't complex enough to run games and there is no way to sell them. And I seriously doubt there would be enough interest for developers, just like there wasn't enough to sustain click-wheel games. IOS killed that market.
It used the gyroscope to control the ball rolling around the maze.
