Slightly differet wifi problem (iPhone 4, iOS 6.01)

I have a problem with my iPhone 4 in so much that it sees wifi networks for only a small amount of time, then forgets them and will not see them until the router is restarted.

For example, I can turn off my wifi and when i turn it back on, the iPhone will pick it up and connect for about an hour without problem, but then it will stop picking it up, or any other wifi network until I restart my router.

Restarting the phone, resetting network setting, hard rest, and even a full wipe and setup as new will still fail to see the network unless I turn the router on and off again.

We have 2 other iPhones in the house (both 4s) and they work just fine.

I have recently replaced the battery becasue of iOS6 battery drain.

I would think this would be obvious... but it sounds like you have a router problem... Either that or something went wrong when the battery was replaced.

Who did the battery replacement? Apple or you/someone else?

Honestly, though, if you have to make a change to something that has no physical contact at all with the phone in order to make it work, that is an argument that the problem is NOT with the phone. There may be a speicific compatibility problem between the router and iOS 6... What version of iOS are the 2 other iPhones running?

Actually, I think the only thing that is obvious is that this is an iPhone problem. That is 100% sure.

I have an xbox, mac book pro, mac pro desktop, and 2 other iPhones and they all connect fine - thus confirming the iPhone as the problem.

If the router was at fault, errors would show up in all other devices; but they don't.

Also, the iPhone fails to pick up other wifi signals in the area when other iPhones have no issue. Seems there are a few thousand others with wifi problems after iOS6, so I would guess it's something to do with that.

That is not necessarily true. It could be a basic compatibility problem between the implementation of the 802.11 protocol it's using and the implementation in iOS.

It might have been helpful if you'd mentioned that to begin with...

Reboot - Restore - Restore as new. If that doesn't fix it, make an appointment at the genius bar.
