I'm trying to use AirPrint for email or photos. My iphone recognizes MX892 printer, prepares to print but won't actually print the file. Just drops it. What's missing?

I went through this checklist again and everything is fine except for the actual printing. My phone is up to date, printer is capable and firmware is good, I have a connection, it prepares for the printer.... then nothing. I'm perplexed.

After you added the printer, did you reboot both the printer and the phone? Make sure you close the app you are trying to print from, the reset the phone. Reboot the printer. After the phone restarts, try to print again.

Rebooted the phone, rebooted the printer. Same result. Hit print, get contacting printer, then quickly preparing for printer, then nothing. 30 seconds later I get - printer is offline.

It sounds as if the printer is having difficulty remaining connected to the network. Did you try rebooting the router? Make sure the printer is not connected to the computer via wire either. It can only be connected via wifi. Can you print with the printer from the computer? Have you checked to see if there is a firmware update for the printer, by going to the printer manufacturer website? I haven't checked, but I am assuming that it is on the supported list, since it seems to be starting to connect.
It prints from our iPad, amd my wife's iPhone but not my iPhone. Even more confounding.

try using an app like printdirect on the iphone and see if you have the same problem?
