my husband got the 5 last night and when we synced his apps from his 3 all of his games are making him start over, they did not save his progress, any ideas how to correct this?

Have you tried signing in to game center. Because game center is the place where your scores are. Try following what lawrence finch is saying.
once you log into the game center then what do you do from there?
It uses the information that the games you had before and the scores of the games.
After you sign in it does it automatically. To see if this is working go to angry birds or any game center game. And when the game loads it shows the username of the user.
But the scores are worldwide so anyone can see it. I recommend that you use a username without your real names.
Just use something catchy.
