Use an different USB port or a powered hub.
are you using the cable that came with the ipod ?

The port on your computer probably isn't providing enough power to charge your iPod. If it's a desktop, did you try plugging it into the back?

ok so as I understand it, you are NOT using the charger that came with the ipod? people tend to get this error when they are not using the charger that is meant for the product.
The problem is that iPods don't come with chargers.
The right question would be: are you using a charger with a MFi (Made for iPhone/iPod/iPad) logo?
"charger" ok ffs the CABLE it comes with. did it COME with the ipod.
I just bought an ipod, it came with a cable, I call it a charger, because when I plug it in to my computer it charges.
