Will Macbook Pro support ADATA 256GB SSD
MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
My 15" MBP i7 doesn't seem to be supporting it. :/ Not only that, but ADATA doesn't support firmware updates for OS X—only for Linux and Windows.
I wouldn't recommend it.
Thank you so much for the information. That will save me wasting my time trying to work with something that, in the end, isn't going to work well or at all anyway. But I can use this drive in a Windows laptop that I have so it is not a lose. I am using a Corsair Force 3 that I am using in a Mac desktop and it works fine so I guess I see about getting something like that for the MBP. Thanks again
No problem, I feel like I've wasted a good amount of money on this. I'm sure there will eventually be an Apple update that will probably cover whatever firmware issue is present with my ADATA SSD, but there is no way of knowing when that will happen or how will it will work. Honestly, I wish I'd just bought a more expensive, better-supported SSD. I've heard Intel's SSDs are the best on the market, though they're a bit expensive.
