I recently bought an iPhone 5 16gb variant from india. The problem I am facing is that the facetime icon has suddenly disappeared from my phone. It is still accessible from contacts but I am quite sure it was there as a separate icon as well as I have used many times. Now I tried searching for this problem but I saw a lot of people saying that the icon isn't there on an iPhone. Now Om quite sure it was there on my iPhone 5 running 6.0.1 iOS. So there is no doubt on my mind about that. It was surely there as till yesterday only I used the icon to access facetime. Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you

iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.1

Sorry, there has never been a FaceTime app for any iPhone, thus there is no icon. FaceTime, on an iPhone, is accessed through the contacts app. Always been this way.

If you have Facetime before, so try to sign out from Facetime and sign in again. Set your Facetime to call/receive calls by your email .

    Hope it will be helpful

The iPad has a FT app, the iPhone does not, and never has.

The iPod touch 4th gen. has a FT app too but not iPhone.

Thanks for your input guys. I would like to know how many here are using iPhone 5 on iOS 6.0.1? Maybe it has facetime app icon. I'm quite sure it was there as I didn't just see it once or twice. I was using it for weeks now so its definitely not my imagination. Please can some iPhone 5 user on iOS 6.0.1 confirm that there's no facetime icon shortcut. Only then can I truly believe it as I suspect iPhone 5 may have it different as it has an extra row of icons. I really appreciate all the help you guys are giving.

Don't know how clearer we can be, there has never been a FaceTime app for the iPhone, thus there has never been a FaceTime icon.

Maybe you'll believe the developer (Apple) of FaceTime...

"Note: There is no FaceTime app on iPhone. Use the Phone app instead."

About the middle of the page...

Upon reading the previous posts, got a bit confused.

I got an iPhone 4s, and been trying to find the icon for face time, since under Settings, I have Face Time Applicaition and under that application at the bottom I have an option ´Use Cellular Data´ on/off

and says ´Turn Cellular Data off to restrict FaceTime to Wi-Fi Only.

What is confusing is this piece of information within my phone settings, since you and other posts mentioned there´s no facetime for iPhone.

Am I missing something? Your input would be welcomed

FT IS on the iPhone, it's just not accessed via an 'app' like it is on the iPad and Touch.  On the iPhone, it's accessed via Contacts.  See the link in my earalier post on how to use FT.

Thanks Wjosten!  Your response solved the supposed mystery.  I think a bunch of us believed we should see the same Facetime app on our iPhone 5's as our iPads.  Your response cleared things up!
