Honestly, I have never seen so much dreaded spinning wheel in an upgrade than in Mountain Lion...what's up with that? Is it because the upgrade was intended for the latest processors such as the I7? After using Firefox for say half an hour, every action initiates the dread spinning wheel despite having the maximum Ram installed in my machine. I just restart Firefox or the machine to resolve.

Does this happen with other apps or only FF?
So far, I noticed this with Firefox as well as iPhoto. And, as others have stated, Mail seems slow to open most of the time since the last Mountain Lion upgrade...just haven't seen the spinning wheel with it yet.
Try starting in Safe Mode and see if these problems still occur.
Restart holding the "shift" key.
(Expect it to take longer to start this way because it runs a directory check first.)
Just tried that however, that didn't worked because I have Intego's Internet Security installed and in safe mode that's turned off which then blocks internet access. So, unable to test in safe mode.

You certainly have enough iAntiVirus errors (I thought that was symantec?)
I don't know quicklook.satellite but it's doing you no good either.
Why don't you disable the Intergo stuff and any other AV stuff you have.
You really should use the uninstallers provided by the developers.

Thanks, I will delete IAntiVirus, an open source anti virus since I have Intego which is supposed to be the best anti virus for Macs. I will keep Intego...paid too much to just dish it. Also, I do some house cleaning of software I no longer use. However, I'll do that much later today and report back.

iAntivirus should not do anything other than when you manually start a scan with it, so it should not be the cause of any problems. Since it's from the App Store, it's nicely sandboxed and can't really do any harm or install anything that will slow down your machine.
As for VirusBarrier, its detection rate is good (though not the best, see Mac anti-virus detection rates), but it does so many other things that can cause many problems. It is frequently the source of problems getting online, accessing the App Store, etc. You don't need all that, just get rid of it. Read my Mac Malware Guide, and then if you want to use anti-virus software, use one of the free products that are recommended there. (As there are several excellent free Mac AV programs, there's absolutely no need to spend money on anything!)
VB may not be the source of the problems either, though. You could have something else installed that is causing the problem. After uninstalling VB, if the problems continue, try macjack's safe boot test. If that fixes the problem, and it comes back after rebooting normally, then you have some other third-party software that is having trouble with Mountain Lion.
So why the iAnti-Virus error messages in the log... it seems to be doing something?
I guess one question would be, how old is this copy of iAntivirus? If it's the old PC Tools version of iAntivirus, that should definitely be removed ASAP. Not only is it very old (not updated since 2009), but it was for all intents and purposes a scam by the time it was bought by Symantec earlier this year.
I tend to assume, though, that folks are using the newer iAntivirus these days, since there weren't many using the older version before it was bought. But you know what you do when you assume, right? 🙂
Well, you know how I feel... soooo many folks would be soooo much better off, if they just let their Macs do what Macs do best 😉
I agree with you. I don't run AV software myself, nor do I feel that it is necessary personally. But my philosophy is that folks are going to do what they're going to do... so I try to make sure they do it with decent software, at least!
I wished I had come on the forum before spending money that was three times the value of the world's most advance operating system. Actually, I had question my decision; however, I had used Intego's Spam Barrier during the days of Tiger and found it useful.
I actually now think it's Intego's Content Barrier that's apart of its Internet Security suite that's causing the slowness or the dreaded spinning wheel after twenty minutes using Firefox. A few weeks ago, I had uninstalled it and got the famous
No Network access: NSPOSIXErrorDomain.
Everything I did would not work to give me access; so, I got tired and reinstalled the software. I wish I could get back my money. I will contact Intego on the proper method to remove Content Barrier as the uninstaller is not removing whatever is blocking access to network. Intego has now lost a customer.
