How can you manually update the recovery partiton to match the same version as the system?
say that sw_vers on the OS says 10.8.2 while recovery says 10.8.1. How can you merge stuff over so you also get the recovery up to 10.8.2?
Also, is it possible to integrate an 10.8.2 update package into the 10.8.1 installer dvd?

You don't have to. ML updates will do that if necessary. As for integrating, there isn't any 10.8.1 installer DVD that I'm aware of, so describe what you really want to do.
I want an 10.8.3 installer and recovery. As there only are updates for the beta as for now, creating your own is the only option.
Discussions of beta software are out of bounds here and violate the NDA associated with them.
And now why do you think my question was as is? ;)
Anyhow, this applies to any installer DVD. I just as we'll might want to update my 10.7 DVD with the latest 10.7.x combo update.
