For OS X 10.8 you need the CAPT v3.55 driver. Earlier versions are not supported.

With you having installed both older versions I would recommend you remove them before installing v3.55.

The first step is to remove any printer for the LBP7200 in Print & Scan.

Then open Finder and navigate to HD > Library > Printers > Canon and trash the CUPSCAPT folder.

Still in Finder, navigate to HD > Library > LaunchAgents and trash the file "jp.co.canon.CUPSCAPT.BG.plist".

Now restart the Mac and install the v3.55 driver. Then add the printer and see if this prints.

If it doesn't print, can you open System Information and select Printers in the left column. Then in the right pane, select the LBP7200 (if you have more than one printer installed) and copy all the information for the LBP7200 and then paste it back here so I can check it.

Hello Pahu, I am searching for help the last couple of hours... I do have the same problem with my CanonLBP7200Cdn which I try to connect via USB to an Iomega hard disk which is connected to my Time Capsule... the MacbookPro finds the printer, let me install it as well (I use the Capt driver 3.55 US) but when trying to print, nothing comes out. Sorry to bother you but I am not an expert on this at all, just trying to get my printer working... When I try to connect it via Ethernet directly to the Time Capsule, I can't add the printer as it is not found.... To be honest I have no idea how to connect via Ethernet and what I have to do.... Would you please be so kind and help me on this? Thanks, BR, Karin

Hello Karin.

The CAPT driver has limitations and one of those it that it cannot print when the printer is connected to the USB port of an Airport device or 3rd party print server.

So using the Ethernet is your best option, however the printer does not advertise its presence on the network, so when you select to add it will not appear in the Default view like the it did when connected via USB.

Therefore to add the printer you will need to know the IP address the LBP7200 has acquired. You should be able to use Airport Utility to see the IP address of the LBP. If you have no luck with that there is a Canon tool called Netspot Device Installer. This should have been shipped on a CD with the machine. If you cannot find it then let me know.

Once you know the IP address of the LBP you can then add the printer, selecting the IP icon in the Add printer window and then selecting the LPD protocol. You can also enter the IP address used by the LPB and change the Use menu to the LBP7200 CAPT driver.

Hello again, thanks a lot for your quick reply! Still waisted another couple of hours and did not suceed yet ;-)

I managed to find the IP of the Time Capsule.. is the printer IP the same when connected to the TC? If yes, I am still not able to connect. (Connection Error - not able to set up the printer, would you like to continue anyway...) When finishing the setup - ignoring the warning before - the printer is installed, but nothing will be printed.

Any other idea? I am sorry for keeping you busy....

Thanks a lot, Karin

The IP address of the LBP7200 has to be different to the Time Capsule. By default the printer is set to automatically obtain an IP address. And NetSpot Device Installer should find it on your network, even if it has the wrong IP address for your network. So with NSDI not finding the printer I would suggest you turn it off for a minute and then back on again. Also make sure that only the Ethernet cable is connected to the Time Capsule. If the USB is also connected then this can cause problems.
