DNS problem, but Wifi works fine.

Hey guys !

So here's what is happening. I basically have a modem (without Wifi), and when I try to go on the internet with it I have a DNS problem (that's what Chromes says anyway). First thing I tried doing was to check if I could go online by using an other way: Safari didn't work, and no better luck with Firefox.

Then I tried going online using Wifi (not the same modem) and it worked fine.

So I tried the modem on another Macbook, to see if it's my computer, or the modem, and, well... my friend was able to go online. Really don't know what to do...

Make sure Ethernet is at the top of the connection list in the Network preference pane. The dot next to it should be green; otherwise, you're not physically connected to anything. Turn off Wi-Fi.

Disconnect the power cable to the router, wait a few seconds, then reconnect it. Wait for the router to resynchronize. Try again to renew the DHCP lease.
