problem with K+L highlighting Canvas window

Hello there,

I'm running FCP 7 on a 2010 Macbook Pro.

I recently noticed that by hitting K+L in quick succession (and of course I'm doing this a lot) is strangely highlighting the Canvas window.

Because of this weird behaviour in order to perform useful commands like "select in to out" (option+A) or even simply zoom in the timeline

I have to hit command+3 to set the highlight back on the timeline which is a bit frustrating. Has anyone ever come across this problem before?

The same problem seems to happen with different keyboards and even if I map play and pause on other buttons.

Any help would be much appreciated
