So I "rented" a movie from the iTunes store, paid for it, and began downloading it. Unfortunately my crappy 4G internet was so slow that by the time my movie was completely downloaded, it had expired and I never got to watch it, ***?

Shouldn't I get my money back? At least? Maybe be able to get another try? Are they able to track if I even opened the file? *****

All purchases are considered final, but you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download or credit you : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

If you are on a very slow connection and it's going to take longer than 24 hours (48 hours if you aren't in the US) to download a rental then don't start playing it until it's completed downloading - the 24 or 48 hour countdown starts as soon as you click play.
