I'm fairly new to compressor, so please bear with me. Here's my question:

After burning one successful DVD and still having the compressed .mov, .par, and .ac3 files, how can I burn another couple copies of the DVD? When I re-open compressor and submit the job it wants to over-write those files again. If those files already exist isn't there a way to simply burn them to DVD? I feel like I must be missing something here. I have had success when compressor asks if I would like to burn another copy, however if I close and reopen compressor I cannot get that prompt to come back up.

Any help is greatly appreciated!  Thank you!!

The best way is when planning the original project, specifying in job action to make a disk image. You do that by selecting hard drive rather than an optical drive as Output Device. Then you can make as many physical disks as you want – when you want.

Alternatively, you can copy an existing DVD in Disk Utility and save the disk image.

If you don't have a DVD copy option, and if the Compressor project is still accessible, a workaround is to open it; in the batch pane modify the name of the output files (say by adding a numeric prefix). Before submitting, select the job pane )not the targets and in job actions select hard drive as output device. It should take the existing encoded files and make them into a disk image. (You could also choose the optical drive, but that would mean you might be facing the same tasks when next week someone asks for another copy.

    Good luck.

Thank you! I'm working with Disk Utility and things look promising. Great advice!

Now that you have the disk image, do you just right click and tell it to burn to disk? Or do you still use compressor to burn the next few disk's?

Compressor isn't needed... Mount the disk image and burn from Disk Utility.

okay, i am trying that, and you are sure this is so you can watch videos in a dvd player.
