I have a 27" iMac from September of 2011 that I want to use as a display for a recentlly purchased

Mac Pro 2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon purchased Nov 2010

How is this accomplished?

It coiuld only be done if you have a Video card with a MiniDisplay port, not a Display port or any other kind of port, but...

Thanks for the input, I am trying to use the 27 inch iMac as a second monitor for the Mac Pro. I have updated both to OSX 10.8.2, and I have a mini display cord to hook them together. I have the Mac Pro hooked up to a 20" cinema display. My goal is to use ProTools on the Mac Pro, and add the screen real estate of the iMac display.
