FileVault 2: Can recovery keys be stored with Apple after opting not to?

We turned on FileVault for a few users and chose not to store the recovery keys with Apple just to spare us time from noting down the security questions and answers. In retrospect we think storing them with Apple would've been a smart idea -- to have another way to retrieve recovery keys.

Is there a way to change that option for the recovery keys we already have? Or do we have to turn FileVault off, decrypt the drive, and start over?
