Does AppleCare cover iPhone Water Damage?

does apple care cover water damage on the iphone? I'm debating if I should keep my security/damage coverage plan with verizon or switch to apple care which is a less expensive. My current plan covers water damage and I was wondering if the same was true for apple care.

Depends on your location, but at least in the United States, the only Apple plan for iPhones is AppleCare+ (or a version that includes theft/loss protection), which is now "unlimited" (for accidental damage) although I suppose they might cancel it after too many instances. There have been cases of intentional damage (often YouTube stunts) where I've heard they denied an accidental damage claim. It would require paying a deductible. The deductible is different depending on the damage (just glass damage is a lower deductible). I recall it was previously up to two instances per 12 month period, but it doesn't seem to be the case now. This is the United States version, but the prices vary in different countries where AppleCare+ is available.
