Q: It says offline so I can't hear the sound if it's located.

I'm trying to locate my missing ipad2, but on the "find my iphone" app it says offline & I can't locate it as I don't even hear the sound.

iPad 2, iOS 6

    If it is offline, then any remote commands are not even reaching it.  Offline means it has no active data connection with the iCloud servers that handle the find my device service.  Unless it comes online again, all you can do is physically search for it.
