If the ram chip is not specifically for an Apple computer don't buy it. Check out the ram at macsales.com.
Are you contemplating of installing only 2 Gb RAM. Your MBP can accommodate up to 8 Gb and RAM is quite inexpensive now. The specifications you cite are correct. I recomend OWC (same as Sig suggests) and Crucial as two goof RAM sources.
