MacBook that will not reboot- stuck on apple logo and spinning gear

Hello I have a MacBook that will not reboot. It gets to the gray screen with the apple logo and the spinning gear and that's it. I have tried restarting the PRAM, performing safe boot, and verbose method. What can I do to get my Mac back? please help
