No input signal when using guitar with Garageband.

I have an ipad 2, and I use an irig when I want to record my guitar. When I plugged it in my guitar today and turned the monitor on in garageband I would not get a signal at all, and there was no sound. I tried amplitube and it worked fine. I deleted and then restored garageband and nothing had changed. Any help is greatly appreciated!
