HELP! I have to verify my Apple-ID-password, but it is taking forever!

I suddenly had to verify my Apple-ID-password in order to continue using iCloud on my mac, but after I have entered my password and hit the OK-button, it just loads forever.. Why is this? I have tried wrong passwords, resulting in my access being denied, so I figured my password is not the reason. I resently changed my appl-ID password, but ii is working fine on my iPhone with iTunes and AppStore.
