smart folder and labels

smart folder and labels

Hi.

I've created a smart folder for searching files with a specified label (orange for examople) by using the "label" criteria.

but the smart folder created shows up also the files that were previous labelled in orange.

I read in discussion to use "file label" instead of "label" but I cannot find it in all the kind of criteria.

I'm italian so i only found "etichetta" which stands for "label".

Could someone help me?

MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2011), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), all up to date

File label is the English translation of Italian Etichetta

i read that in past versions of osx you should use "file label" instead of "label" but i have only "label" in practice.

selecting label (that i yet was using) it's not a solution because the smart folder shows also the not-labelled-anymore files.

I think it's not possible. The name's label you assign to a color's label is only for your convenience.

OK.

I tested it and when I remove the label from a file, that file goes away from the Smart folder view too.

Have you tried with another user?

i tryed with a guest user (that can see some files of mine) and the also the search find a lot o files that are no more labelled. i created a file and i labelled /delabelled it, the search don't find it anymore, like it should do.

You can reindex the disk.

It works, but takes nearly 3 hours to reindex the whole harddisk. Don't know why Apple never notice this annoying problem.
