Windows 8 and bootcamp stuff

I am a gamer. (just to tell you)

The PC games that I own are for...well PCs, I used to use them on the family computer but the other newer ones are a bit violent and my parents don't like my younger brother watching. So I decided to use boot camp on my macbook. This game apparently runs on windows 8 and windows 8 appears to be cheaper than all the other (trustworthy) windows 7 stuff.

I read that you need to type in the product key. So if I buy this

will I be able to use the product key from that and what would happen to the disc?

It will be a great help, and thank you if you could be bothered to read it. Poor Grammar and wording, sorry, but please help.

That is an upgrade version of Windows 8. Unless you already have a previous version of Windows insatalled in your Bootcamp partition it won't work.

Besides, Windows 8 is not yet supported by Bootcamp.

Read the sytem requirements for Bootcamp installation of Windows.

so what version of windows should I get. I have plenty of space on my macbook (about 700gb left) so the 16gb isn't a problem, and I have a 16gb flash drive, and my macbook pro is mountain lion.

So I am planning on getting a 64bit version.

Home Premium, Professional or Ultimate Disc (which is best for me)

Only Home & Professional are supported (although Ultimate seems to work fine). Choose 64bit Professional.

I am not sure what you are referring to when you say "the 16GB isn't a problem" but you will need to make a 60GB (minimum) partition for Win 7.

FWIW, the upgrade price also applies to upgrading the Windows 8 Consumer Preview to a full version. If you get the freely available ISO of Windows 8 CP and install it with Bootcamp, you can also get legitimate upgrade pricing to a full version of Windows 8 Pro and until 31 Jan 2013, you can get the Windows Media Center add-on package for free.
