There is no unlock code for an iPhone. You must follow the instructions you received, and if you do it correctly and the phone is unlocked you should receive the message deggie mentioned.

If you do not follow the instructions it will not be unlocked.

If the phone was ever jailbroken it will not be unlocked even if 3 processed the unlock request.

yes i followed allinstructions turn off change sim to non 3 turn on it should turn off after about aminute n come back on and choose network it stays there or wrong sim, please put the sim in that was with your handset or something similar,no service on any sim except 3.... would i need to enter an unlock code cos me or previous owner avnever had a code to enter tounlock, i read up on jail breaks n unlocks from markets n stuff n decided my best option was the network to unlock, they say its done but i cant get itto work with anyother sim except 3

You don't get an unlock code !

The system is the registered user contacts their Mobile operator confirms iMEI number and pays appropriate fee.

That Mobile operator submits the iMEi number to Apple.

Apple white list iMEi number on their iTunes server and confirms this back to Mobile operator.

The Mobile operator sends the registered user an sms/e-mail inviting them to sync phone via USB cable to their ITunes account.

You follow on screen prompts (With registered sim onboard) until you see the “Congrat's .........” message

You now pull the registered sim and replace it with a sim from another supported network.

Caveat with some of the Virtual networks such a Giff-gaff /Virgin / BT/ Tesco etc........ you may have difficulty getting SMS/MMS to send due to the APN settings being wrong (They default to the actual network sighted).

Some of those Sims may give you access to a hidden menu feature that allows you to set the correct APN manually however others don't.
